Beads

art glass,jmbglass,Bernbaum,Vermont blown glass

After several years of struggling with the results of pursuing my passions I found inspiration in a bead. I would have never
considered myself a bead maker or a painter. However, the two merged, resulting in my Sumi-e jewelry. I just love the whole process of creating these beads; from the initial shaping of the glass in the flame to the meditative aspect of Sumi-e brush strokes and finally assembling the finished piece of jewelry. Because of the various techniques involved, no two works can be completely identical, resulting in rather unique pieces. By incorporating unusual, sometimes vintage materials alongside my Sumi-e beads, my intent is to offer that each work creates its own place in time while still referencing the past. I hope that others can share in my delight at the results.
Thanks to all of my many inspirations.
